How does the melody generator work?
It writes a four-bar tune over the chords you pick. On each beat it lands on a note of the chord, and between beats it steps along the scale, so the melody fits the chords and never clashes. Tap Another melody for a new one over the same chords.
Can I download the melody as MIDI?
Yes. Tap MIDI to save it as a .mid file at the beat’s tempo, ready for FL Studio, Ableton, Logic, GarageBand or any DAW.
Is it free? Do I need an account?
Free, and no account is needed to hear a melody, download it or open it in the editor. A free account keeps your project and lets you export it.
Can I use the melodies in my songs?
Yes. The melodies are written for you on the spot, so use them in your own music, released or not.
Can I change the melody after?
Yes. In the editor every note can be moved, stretched or deleted, the sound can be swapped for a piano, bell, flute or synth, and you can add chords, drums or your voice.
