Frequently asked questions

How does tap tempo work?

Tap on every beat while the music plays. After three taps the BPM shows, and it settles as you keep going. It takes the middle of your recent gaps, so one late tap does not throw it.

How do I start again?

Stop tapping for two seconds and the next tap starts a new count.

Can I tap with the keyboard?

Yes. Press the space bar (or T) on every beat.

My BPM is half or double what I expected

You may be tapping every other beat, or twice a beat. Tap Half or Double to switch. Trap and hip-hop are often felt in half time.

What is the millisecond number for?

One beat in milliseconds. Set a delay or a reverb pre-delay to it (or half of it for eighth notes) and the echoes land in time.

Can I find the BPM from a file instead?

Yes. The BPM and key finder reads a song file on your device and gives the tempo and key.
